INNOCENT CHILDREN'S DAY

On the innocent children’s day, children take branches of hazel and willow bushes to stroke other people. When they are stroking their fellows, they want to transmit the power of the green brunches upon them and give them constant healthiness.

The stroking is only allowed in the morning. In the vernacular they say that children who go stroking in the afternoon are pushed into the stovepipe.

In return for their ‘holy and hearty’ wishing stroking the children get treats or coins for their money box.
